Enjoy the calm, medieval atmosphere of the river or the hustle and bustle of the town. The troglodyte village of Rochemenier where you can see two old farms with dwellings and outbuildings hewn out of the rock as well as several hundred tools and pieces of rustic furniture.
The Château de Montreuil-Bellay surrounded by 600m of ramparts and flanked by 13 defensive tours. The barbican, moat and kitchen with central fireplace provide a remarkable illustration of medieval military architecture.
Follow the signposted circuit and explore the history of Montreuil Bellay through 24 points of interest on foot or by bike.
A visit to the Living Mushroom Cave at Le Puy Notre Dame 6km from the campsite. Learn the history of the mushroom and how it is grown. You can also taste a number of local wines.
Set at the foot of the elegant Château de Montreuil-Bellay, Les Nobis d'Anjou borders the vineyards of Saumur. Your hosts are sure to recommend a visit to the cellars at Le Domaine du Moulin de l’Horizon, a vineyard located just a short walk from the campsite and run, unusually, by a family from the Lille area in northern France. And never fear, you can also taste and buy these famous Loire wines onsite if you prefer.
Come and spend a holiday at Clément’s 7-acre riverside campsite in the heart of the beautiful French countryside. The river that runs alongside the campsite is ideal for a spot of fishing with all the family. And while you’re here make sure you try some of the great home-made food served in up in the onsite restaurant. Finally, if you’re lucky enough to find yourself here during France’s annual Fête de la Pêche fishing week, there’ll be a chance for beginners to try their hand at fishing under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
