Sited at the northern end of this sheltered bay, the campsite has something for everyone: pool, sports activities and local walks. Further afield, you can sample fresh seafood and visit the oyster beds in the local oyster-farming villages, take a boat to Cap Ferret passing the Île aux Oiseaux, the characteristic cabanes tchanquées - wooden huts built on stilts – and pinasses – local fishing boats en route. Or simply marvel at the majestic Dune du Pyla, the highest sand dune in Europe.

Come and visit La Canadienne in the Bassin d'Arcachon where Karine and Richard will show you the 100km of cycle paths that crisscross the Gironde area. One route, for example, leaves from the campsite and runs through lovely countryside to the village of Andernos-les-Bains, where you’ll find a great market. An “Accueil vélo” campsite since 2011, La Canadienne provides its own bike hire service and guarantees a cycle-friendly welcome.
Come and sample the joys of the Atlantic Ocean and ride the waves at Karine and Richard’s La Canadienne campsite. Whether you’re an experienced surfer or a complete novice who just wants to have a go, they offer a range of packages to help you make the most of the surf. And after a hard day’s sport why not treat yourself to a trip to the Bassin d’Arcachon for a bit of sightseeing and a plate of the region’s delicious oysters?
