The Jardins de Marqueyssac – beautiful listed gardens with more than 6km of walks and some 150,000 hand-sculpted centenarian box plants. Périgord’s most visited garden attraction, they enjoy a fine viewpoint 130m above the River Dordogne. The gardens also offer a programme of sporting, leisure and educational activities.
A trip down the Dordogne in a gabarre, one of the traditional flat-bottomed boats once used to transport goods along the river.

The local Green Way offers 50km (round trip) of walking and cycling paths along the route of a discussed railway line and makes a great way to see the local scenery.
Try a tour of some of the local sights: the Ecomusée de la Noix, which showcases the history and cultivation of walnuts, and the châteaux of Castelnaud and Les Milandes just 10km from Vitrac with a stop at the Jardins de Marqueyssac on your return.
