In the heart of Charente Maritime, the Brouage marshes offer a wide range of landscapes including grasslands, salt meadows and reed beds, all rich in flora and fauna. And it is here that you will find Les Etangs Mina, a quiet and peaceful country campsite which offers a programme of activities throughout the summer. Those in search of somewhere to swim can choose between the pool on site or the beach (20km). Further afield, don’t miss the chance to visit La Rochelle and Royan or to sample the oysters of Marennes-Oléron.

The Cité de l'Huitre visitor centre in the heart of the Marennes-Oléron oyster beds. Learn about the work of the oyster farmers, local life and the rhythm of the sea.
The Moulin des Loges in Marennes, the last working tidal mill in France. Set amid unspoilt coastal countryside, discover the history of the mill, the salt marshes and the plant and animal species they contain.
The medieval village of Mornac-sur-Seudre, one of the “Plus Beaux Villages de France”. The village of Brouage, a veritable citadel in the heart of the marshes with its typical narrow streets full of shops. Explore the Brouage Marshes (2½ hours by bike, 3½ hours on foot). Skirting sand quarries and passing through an area of woodland – both full of wildlife – the routes leads to Broue Tower. Visit the salt museum and enjoy a typical Charentais snack – apple juice and galette charentaise – before making your way back to the campsite.
A drive up the Seudre Estuary from L’Éguille-sur-Seudre, through Mornac-sur-Seudre to Marennes and the coast with its views of the Ile d'Oléron.
Zoo de la Palmyre | Nestling in 45 acres of pine forest, the Zoo de La Palmyre is situated just 30km from the campsite and makes a great day out for young and old alike. Home to over 110 different species of birds and animals, it plays an important role in the conservation of endangered species. An old favourite, this unique attraction has become one of Charente-Maritime’s landmark tourist attractions.
Les Etangs de Mina is set in the heart of a nature reserve in the Brouage Marshes, noted for their abundant flora and fauna. An ideal destination for nature lovers and anglers alike, the site offers fishing for all on its three private lakes, each stocked with different fish. So whether you prefer tickling a trout or catching a carp, all you need do for a fine day’s fishing is choose the right lake!
