Fuenterrabía (6km) – Take the boat from the port of Hendaye (20 min) to the Spanish town of Fuenterrabía where you can walk through the old town and along the sea wall and enjoy some tapas in a local bar.
Climb the 900m to the summit of Larrun – on foot or on board the rack railway – and enjoy the magnificent panoramic views.
The Château d'Abbadia, a fine Gothic Revival-style castle and observatory set in large grounds.
Walk along the coast road from Saint-Jean-de-Luz via Ciboure and Urrugne to the port at Hendaye enjoying the fine sea views.
Spend a day exploring the backroads of the French Basque Country, visiting the villages of Ascain, Sare (biscuit factory), Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle (pelota and chistera museum), Espelette (chilli and espadrilles), Ainhoa (cheese) and the Zugarramurdi caves.

Starting just 10 minutes from the campsite, a 4-hour cycle route (travelling at a gentle pace) will lead you through a number of towns on an itinerary that features both lovely countryside and some interesting local sights – a fascinating 45km journey that showcases all the charms of the Atlantic coast.
