Beyond the village, you can explore the Fitou vineyards or watch the flamingos on the surrounding salt pans. Wherever you go, you’ll marvel at the unique landscape of lakes, marshes and islands.

Take a sand yachting course on Les Coussoules beach in La Franqui.
A visit to Sigean Safari Park with its 3800 animals. Narbonne town centre with its many architectural treasures including the Cathédrale Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur and the Archbishop’s Palace. The Ile Sainte Lucie Regional Nature Reserve at Port la Nouvelle.
A circular walk (9km/approx. 2½ hours) from the village through the lovely garrigue countryside with panoramic views over the La Palme salt pans and lake. On your return enjoy a tasting of wines produced by local independent winemakers.
A trip to Fontfroide Abbey (40km/40min) with lunch in the restaurant housed in the abbey’s former sheep fold. On your return visit the villages of Peyriac-de-Mer and Bages and take a pretty walk along the lake.

Just five minutes from the campsite, the Etang de la Palme is a favourite spot for kite and wind surfing. Learn to kite surf with our qualified instructors, who offers lessons in the shallow waters of the lake and out at sea. And if it’s speed you’re after, the beach at nearby Coussoules is great for sand yachting.
